Links: Citizen Kane

Above, Sean and Mike argue over Citizen Kane on their early 90s Canadian sketch comedy show.  As usual, Mike wins.

No doubt the most famous article on Citizen Kane is the 1971 two-part New Yorker piece by Pauline Kael, entitled Raising Kane, in which she claims that Orson Welles had no hand in the writing of the picture.  Many film scholars have since discredited Kael's account, most notably Jonathan Rosenbaum, who here touches briefly on the controversy, as part of a longer interview about Orson Welles.

Roger Ebert, who provided one of the greatest audio commentaries of all time for Kane, writes a passionate and informative essay on the film in his Great Movies series.

Tally-ho!
